What Is a Discount Calculator?

A discount calculator is a free online tool with three calculation modes. Mode 1 finds the final sale price and total savings when you know the original price and the discount percentage. Mode 2 finds what discount percentage was applied when you know the original and final prices. Mode 3 works backwards to find the original price when you know the final (discounted) price and the discount percentage. All three modes show the full arithmetic so you can verify the result.

How do I find the original price from a sale price?

Use 'Final Price + Discount %' mode. Enter the price you paid and the discount percentage that was applied. The calculator reverses the formula: original = final ÷ (1 − discount/100).

How do I calculate the discount percentage?

Use 'Price + Final Price' mode. Enter both the original and final price. Discount % = ((original − final) ÷ original) × 100.
