What is the Calorie Calculator?
Our calorie calculator estimates Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) with the Mifflin–St Jeor equation, then multiplies by an activity factor to estimate Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE)  the calories you burn per day on average. We also show example mild and moderate deficit and surplus targets for planning (not medical prescriptions).
Why people use this calculator
Knowing approximate TDEE helps interpret nutrition labels, meal plans and weight change goals. It is a starting estimate; metabolism varies with genetics, thyroid health, sleep and NEAT.
